Applications are now open for the Master’s Program in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics

A new master’s program in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) will begin in the summer semester 2020. Applications are now open and will be accepted until 30 November 2019. The program is provided by the Munich School of BioEngineering – an interdisciplinary research center at TUM.

In this program, students will learn to apply methods and results from biology, physics, engineering, and computer science to the development of technologies for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. They will participate in current research projects and become familiar with the needs and procedures of the clinical practice. The graduates will be well prepared for a variety of jobs in industry and public institutions. With their work, they will contribute to a society where more and more people live long and healthy lives.

The program takes two years to complete. The first year is focused on lectures in a variety of fields related to modern Biomedical Engineering, while the second year is dedicated to practical training and independent research for the Master’s thesis. Students can choose from one of two specializations – biomedical imaging or biosensors – that reflect the expertise present at the Munich School of BioEngineering. Minimum requirement for admission is a qualified Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent degree in an engineering or natural science-oriented degree program.
