Cryo Transmission Electron Microscopy.
The institute hosts two high-end 300 kV cryo transmission electron microscopes for high-resolution imaging of biological samples. The devices are equipped with state-of-the-art electron-counting direct electron detectors, phase plates, energy filters, and goniometers. The systems allow collecting image data of macromolecular assemblies for the purpose of determining their three-dimensional structures. Electron tomography is also possible.
