Video about summer program in biomedical engineering for girls

Each year, the Technical University of Munich (TUM) offers a summer program – Mädchen machen Technik – for girls 10 to 16 years old to explore the world of science and technolgy in different projects. This year, one of the projects was focused on research in biomedical engineering and initiated by the TUM’s Center for Translational Cancer Research (TranslaTUM).

"Our goal was to get the girls interested and enthusiastic about jobs in biology and engineering", says Gabriele Multhoff, Professor of Experimental Radiooncology and Radiation Biology at the TUM School of Medicine and Mentor for GSB doctoral students, in a clip about the project. "We wanted to give the girls the opportunity to experience the daily routines of scientists", she continues.
