Abstract: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are crucially dependent on the availability of large descriptive datasets. However, in many sensitive domains such as medicine, privacy concerns prohibit the sharing of such data. The field of Privacy-Preserving Machine Learning attempts to reconcile the need for privacy, while deriving insight from data and can be the key to leverage orders of magnitude more data. In this talk we will discuss how privacy is formally defined and show how it can be guaranteed in practice.
