Dr Claudio Abels
Claudio is an engineer in computer science and earned his PhD in microsystems engineering from the Università del Salento, Italy, in 2018.
Employed from 2011 as a research associate at the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences he looks back on seven years of research and teaching both computer science and biomimetics.
Claudio is presently preparing a university spin-off called fluctomation. It leverages the lateral line sensory capabilities of fish, which some have termed ‘touching at a distance’, and can accurately measure flow in very confined spaces.
His core competencies are in system programming, microsystem technology, and sensors.
