Abstract: Conventional sample holding mechanisms for X-ray CT setups suffer from limited flexibility. Here we present our work on integrating a flexible robotic arm as a sample holder into an existing X-ray CT setup. It allows for non-standard trajectories by arbitrary rotation and placement of the sample. Our work combines safe robot operation and control, sample-holder design, calibration of the placement error of the robot and the reconstruction of the sample into a unified and easy-to-use pipeline.
